SPEAKER_00:

Good morning. This is Sean Wilson, the mayor of Waynesville, with your weekly community update for November 17th, 2025. This past week, we had the privilege of welcoming nearly 100 Missouri S ⁇ T students and faculty to our community. These students, they completed innovative design projects. They were aimed at improving quality of life across the community of Waynesville. Some standout proposals include a two-lane walking bridge parallel to the RubyDoo Bridge, a mountain bike trail, a second exit at the school near GW Lane, walking, improving walking and mobility transportation concern, addressing those concerns. Other creative concepts, they were exciting and we're definitely looking to explore for further exploration for future implementation. A special thank you to the Ozark Technical Community College for providing a venue and their continued partnership with the city and our community. The students presented their final projects, and we will be sharing this with the public on all avenues, social media, and also they will be present at City Hall and hopefully on our screen in the waiting room. I'd also like to remind everyone that our city council meeting will be held this Thursday at 5 p.m. All residents are always invited to attend and participate. Um this is Friday to Pink Friday, a celebration of the unique boutiques and businesses that make Waynesville special. Support local and discover one-of-a-kind items perfect for holiday shopping. So participating businesses include Westside Salon and Boutique, Eclectic Originals, Plantin' Pages, Home Stad Design, just because every blooming thing and the Riverside Shop. So check out these businesses for their store hours and their special offers, but also support these local businesses. As we mentioned last week, many residents have not received their utility bills. We contacted the distribution center there in Springfield, and the bills at the time that we contacted them had not been processed at that time. So we've extended the paid payment deadline for the electric bills to November 24th by the end of the day. To prevent these future delays, I encourage you to sign up for e-billing and receive your bill notification via email. If you need assistance setting up your e-billing, please stop by City Hall. Our staff is happy to help. You can also use the Dropbox at City Hall to pay your bills. We and we we check that twice a day. We check it in the morning, and we also check it in the evening before we close to make sure that all payments are properly and promptly integrated and adjudicated. So please help spread the word. Sign up for e-billing. We are also definitely excited on Friday, this Friday, November 21st at 4 p.m. at City Hall. We are hosting the Waynesville Action Group Meeting. This is a short-term community project team bringing together residents with unique skills, skill sets for our new cultural heritage project launching this fall. So, what does that mean? We have two tenants in our city, and that is to preserve the past and plan for the future. And we will do everything that we can to fulfill that requirement. Every day we're making history, but are we capturing that history that we're making in our city? And this is what this group is gonna um perform and help us to do in this first uh iteration. So we're very excited about it. If you want to be a part of it, you have skills that you want to contribute to the team, please send an email to mayor at wainsvillemo.org. That's mayor at wainsvillemo.org um with the Waynesville Action Group in the subject line. Also, next week is Thanksgiving and November 27th and Friday, November 28th, in observance of Thanksgiving, City Hall will be closed. See, please plan accordingly. Also, in the next week's episode, I will share all resources that will be available to our community for those that want to partake in any community Thanksgiving events. We will be sharing that information here. If you have knowledge of any of these events, please feel free to contact me at mayor at Wainsville.org, and I will share that with our community as a resource. I do understand that putting these events together, it takes a lot of work, takes a lot of effort, and it does take a lot of resources. And I don't want those resources to be wasted. So let us share this information with our community so we can benefit from the gracious and the generosity of those organizations that are facilitating these services. Again, thank you for your continued support in making Waynesville a wonderful place to live, work, and thrive. Stay engaged, stay involved, and I look forward to seeing you around the town.
