Good morning. This is Sean Wilson, the Mayor of Waynesville, with your weekly update for August 3rd 2025. First, I want to start by notifying everyone that we will have a public hearing on August 21st at 5.30 pm. This public hearing will be held in compliance with the provisions of Section 67.110 of the RSMO and for the purpose of receiving comments from the citizens of Waynesville concerning the ad valorem property tax rates to be established by the city of Waynesville for the current taxable year. The amount of revenue required to be provided for the property tax is set forth by the annual budget and adopted by the city council is $500,000. For the general fund, the proposed tax rate for the current taxable year is .5864 per $100 assessed valuation. For the general fund, the rate from 2024 was .6306. We certainly hope to see you there at the public hearing. Next, we want to congratulate Ruby at Business Graphics for being the Waynesville Business Spotlight for the month of August and congratulations on your fifth anniversary by being a member of the City of Waynesville's downtown business community. Thank you for choosing Waynesville downtown business community. Thank you for

choosing Waynesville. As we prepare for the next school year, there's many events that's taking place and initiatives to raise funds for the distribution of needed school supplies by many organizations within our community. On August 9th, at the ARC, we will have the Back to School Extvaganza that'll be taking place from 9 am to 1 pm. There will be free backpacks filled with school supplies and they will also give away free groceries, personal hygiene products, clothing and even also, if you need a haircut, and there'll be much, much more there. So I want to encourage you to come out. You need to get your tickets for the groceries and the backpacks and they will be distributed at 8 am. So come early. You must have a ticket to receive the bags and the groceries. Backpacks will be distributed at 12 pm and the children must be present to receive the backpacks no exceptions. For more information, call 573-337-1300. 573-337-1300. That being said, we have the Riverside 3, 3, 7, 1, 3 0 0. 5, 7, 3, 3, 3, 7, 1, 3 0 0. That being said, we have the Riverside shop located in Waynesville downtown, and they want, they're looking for assistance and help with them making a difference. They're collecting school supplies and monetary donations for kids this year and, as a thank you, with your purchase, you'll receive 10% off of your order. So I encourage you to go out and support our businesses as they seek to assist in our community Update on our sidewalk project that proceeds from the Ruby Dew Bridge moving west toward

I-Cord Avenue. This project has two phases there's a phase one that goes to Morgan Street and a phase two that proceeds from Morgan Street to I-Cord, and we are working with MoDOT. We just received an update saying that they have received all of our final plans, the specification and estimates for phase one, and they noted that they will have it signed and submitted shortly. Also, they shared that phase two documents will be submitted soon as well. So this is great news and we're certainly appreciative of Modot and their continued support for this project, and hopefully we can see some dirt moving soon and get these sidewalks going so we can continue to make our community safe. Also, starting Monday, august 4th 2025, if you tell your fuel attendant at the downtown service station to fill her up, they'll give you a ticket and you'll simply write your name and your number on it and they'll toss it in a box and you will have an opportunity at the end of the month to win a drawing for a free fill up of your gas tank. So make sure you stop down there to the downtown service station and tell them to fill
