Speaker 1:

Good morning. This is Mayor Sean Wilson with your weekly update for April 28th 2025. This past weekend was incredible as we partnered with the Engine and Regiment for the third annual Best Sapper competition. It was held right here in our city park. It was a fantastic turnout and would not have been possible without the hard work and the dedication of our city staff. A huge thank you goes out to Trey and his Parks Department team for an amazing job they did maintaining our parks and preparing for this event. Speaking on our parks, we're excited to announce that the Little Heroes Playground is now back in operation. Thank you for your patience during this repair process. The new flooring looks and feels amazing. It was well worth the wait.

Speaker 1:

Before I close out the announcements today, I do want to share that answer a couple of questions. One question I was asked is Domino's still coming to Waynesville? The answer to that question is yes. Domino's is still coming to Waynesville and projected to be constructed this year. Also, we have McDonald's that's going under renovation right now. They're changing the configuration and it's going to be a lot better for our community. We're very excited about that taking place, so please be patient as they go through reconstruction, but I want to encourage everyone that you can always still shop here local. We got plenty of restaurants and other options and we're looking to have even more in the future. So it's very exciting times here for our community and thank you for your continued support in making Waynesville a wonderful place to live and work and thrive and stay engaged, and I look forward to seeing you around the town.
