Good morning. This is Sean Wilson, the mayor of Waynesville, with your weekly update for September 16th 2024. Over the last few days I have attended the Missouri Municipal League. This is the 90th annual conference. I had one of my council members attend and two staff members, councilman Don Hayden B Carney and Melanie Bruce, who are both the staff members. They all earned their Certified Municipal Officials Award. This is a great program because it offers courses to help not only elected officials understand the many faceted front of municipal government, but also staff integration. Over the past three days we learned about AI and its integration in the day-to-day operations of the city government, understanding the right of way requirements and rules, and many new legislative initiatives to help protect the cities of Missouri's interest. I would also like to share that I was nominated and appointed as an MML board member. I am very excited about this opportunity because I will continue to not only advocate for the city of Waynesville at our region, actively involved in setting the course for our cities while considering the changes to our legislative initiatives. I will share some more about this program and what it means soon. This is a big deal. This is a big deal.

They share their culture with all those who want to come and experience it, so they have their own delicacies, their dishes that they make, so you can experience theirs and learn about the history of where they have come from. If you want to set up a table and you want to give away candy and set up a game that is in line with our theme this year, the theme this year is unity, so all of the games will portray this message and it'll give the kids an opportunity to go out and get involved and you'll also have an opportunity to learn of a lot of the local resources that we have here. This event is put on by churches, nonprofits, for-profits, local business owners, individual independent owners all kinds of people have come out to make this event available for our community and our youth. So don't don't miss this opportunity to learn a little bit more about your community. And that concludes this week's update, and I look forward to seeing you around the town.
